Xterra Firma Goes 2.0!
Xterra Firma, one of the longest-running and most in-depth Nissan Xterra sites on the Internet has gone 2.0!
The original version of the site, launched in the summer of 2002 - has remained virtually unchanged for the last seven years. While the design was simple and light, it had begun to show its age. This was especially apparent on the back-end where features, expandability and even scalability were being pushed to the limits.
2009 Nissan Xterra Off Road Long Term Report (1 of 4)
Pitted against such competition as the Kia Borrego, Lexus LX570, Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Sequoia, the Nissan Xterra walked away with the 2009 Four Wheeler of the Year's top honor (Feb. '09). As with all of our winners, we put in our order for a long-term test vehicle and have been busily rolling on the miles since it was delivered at the office.

Me & My Car - Xterra Skid Plate Question
Columnist Jonathan Welsh answers readers' questions about automobiles, and in this case a reader asks about the skid plates:
Q: I have a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder with rugged skid plates protecting the underside of the car. New high-clearance SUVs like the Toyota 4Runner and Nissan Xterra don't seem to offer real skid plates. The skid plates on the new 2010 Xterra Off Road seem thin and weak. If I get one of these two vehicles, should I consider putting on tougher after-market skid plates?

Niche Vehicles: They're Not for Everyone, but Tundra, Xterra, G37 & X6 M Suit Many Fine
Most of the consumer vehicles sold in the United States fall into the multipurpose, mid-market category represented by the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Ford Taurus and so on: sensible, reliable, affordable cars meeting most needs of their many buyers.
But there are niche vehicles outside this realm designed to meet the specific needs or wants of more demanding buyers. Take as examples the three cars and one truck we tested recently; they didn’t meet our needs but might be exactly what another driver is looking for.
