I just installed the 3in Calmini SL and had 33in All-Terrains put on my 2000 X. What should I do to strengthening the steering?

Would this be sufficient?

wouldnt hurt...especially with the 33s...
got them on mine, helped quite a bit.

if youre gonna abuse your stuff and dont want to shell out the cash for the calmini steering system, id put a couple weld beads on the two u bolts...mine have slipped quite a bit and now the shock isnt horizontal but rather at a 25 degree bend upward. no harm though, just havent gotten to fixing it yet...oh the summer
just a thought

definitely toss on the idler arm brace

some people say that a steering stabilizer is pointless and that it just hides potential problems...i say that as long as your steering is in good shape, it can't hurt(which is why i'm installing mine this week)

if you have the extra cash, go with a set of heavy-duty adjustable tie rods (AC sells them for about $75)...also check out rockhumper fabrication or grassroots 4x4 for modified centerlinks that remove the ball-joint ends and instead use strong spherical bearings

I have the Hoohaa (grassroots4x4) centerlink; works fine. Definitely add the idler arm brace.

someone on clubxterra found a guy on ebay selling tie rods with ends for $60 and they are thicker than the stock ones, and they are assuming that because they are thicker, they are stronger

worth a shot, no?

just search 'xterra steering' on ebay
