As of January 2011 - (Inside Line Article) Nissan Xterra
* 2013 Nissan Xterra: Like the Pathfinder, the Xterra is based on a version of the F-Alpha truck platform that underpins the Frontier and Titan pickups. With major redesigns of those trucks currently underway, the Xterra will most likely undergo minor updates until a full redesign is ready in 2013. http://www.insideline.com/nissan/future-vehicles.html

Yeah, that's old, and pure speculation. There has been no word that the Xterra will carry on.

I like the sound of that! I didn't really like the direction they went with the 2nd gen. Nissan: redeem yourself!

Back on June 9th, 2010 - that might have seemed like a good idea for Nissan. But with the steadily rising fuel costs and SUVs falling out of favor to the "crossover" and hybrid crowd...
Let's just say I wouldn't hold my breath.
If the numbers keep up, we might not even see an Xterra that much longer, new or old.

Anything new on this? I read somewhere online 2013 will be the last model year for the X.
Musher 04 XE, 4x4/5 speed, Thermal Red. BFG A/T KOs, Optima Red Top, Bilsteins

Due to the tsunami and so forth, they are unlikely to re-tool the japan-end of things on schedule.
If the Titan platform changes, the rigs made on it will need to change....and after that, as always, for all car makers...its a crap shoot.

My inside sources at Smyrna tell me they are starting the 2013 Xterra line at the plant. That means the 2013 X is going to be rolling out to showrooms soon.

The hell? I would be surprised to see a 2013 Xterra showing up before July.
